NFL - 3 draft picks for 2016

NFL - 3 draft picks for 2016

The NFL draft is a huge event in sports, to the point where there is a whole industry built around it. Experts pontificate for months on who should be picked when, and how each team could best fill their needs. For 2016, here’s how the top three picks shaped up:

Pick #1: Jared Goff (QB) to the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams are returning to Los Angeles, bringing an NFL team back to America’s second largest media city. It’s been many long years of waiting for Los Angeles fans, and the Rams made some noise by taking someone they hope will be a franchise player. Goff was born in California and played football there as well for the Golden Bears. He has a strong athletic pedigree, as his father played six seasons in Major League Baseball. He set records at California for passing yards and passes completed. The Rams hope he will bring similar success in his professional career.

Pick #2: Carson Wentz (QB) to the Philadelphia Eagles. Wentz is a bit of an anomaly, in that he played Division-1AA football and still got picked second overall. He has excellent work ethic and intelligence to go along with his athletic ability; analysts feel he will take a few years to develop, but has all the tools to be a great quarterback.

Pick #3: Joey Bosa (DE) to the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers went on the defensive side of the ball with their pick, taking Joey Bosa to shore up their pressure. He plays best in a 3-4 defense, which is the Chargers setup as well.
