Brett Favre Was Awesome As A Competitor - Brian Urlacher

Brian Urlacher, former linebacker for the Chicago Bear, hasn’t forgotten the first time that he faced off with Green Bay Packers’ Brett Farve back in 200. “We ended up winning the game 27-24 and mind you I happened to have a sack in that game”

Brian Urlacher, an eight-time Pro Bowl linebacker, made those remarks during an interview with ESPN.com. “For that game Brett threw something like 390, (come to think of it, it was 333 yards) but we still ended up beating them.”

“I don’t know why but there was usually a story every time that we played against Brett,” he said. The meet at 200 was not the only significant time that Brian Urlacher faced off with Brett Frave, back in 2007 the two once again met and it was during this particular year that Brian Urlacher had his first pick-six.

“Many people might not know this but I did have several picks with him,” he said. “In fact, I did have my first six-pick back in 2007 with him. I tell you, playing against Brett has always been fun even if I ended up being in the losing team.”

Brian Urlacher did not stop there, he went on to reveal that he has tons of respect for Brett Farve who is set to be indicted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame.

“When exactly did Brett retire, was it some 2 or 5 years ago? Honestly I don’t still believe that it took this long,” he said. “I have a lot of respect for Brett, he was without a doubt a great competitor that any competitive player would want to play against or with. Both his attitude and his competitive nature was one of the best in the league.”
