Timothy Mathew Howard popularly known as Tim Howard is one of the important players USA has produced till date. He is the goal keeper for the English Club Everton and the United States national team.
He was born on March 6, 1979 to Mathew Howard and Esther Howard, his parents divorced when he was three and he lived with his mother who worked as container packing distributor for a living. When he was studying in sixth grade, it was found out that he was suffering from Tourette syndrome. His talent was noticed by Tim Mulqueen and took him under his wing and coached him for free and this happened before Tim hit his teens. When he was in high school, he was playing for Central Jersey Cosmos. In 1995, he got his first break, he got selected for US under-17 team and in 1997, and his coach was appointed as the coach of the North Jersey Imperials. Tim played his first professional match all because of his dear coach because it was his coach who recommended his name for the post of goal keeper in Imperials and that too before he graduated from high school.
He was one of the best goal keeper US soccer has ever had. He won all the three US open cup in 2000 and in 2001 ,he was awarded with the prestigious MLS Goal keeper of the year award for recording 146 saves and finishing the year with a super score of 1.33 GAA.
