Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale is a professional football player, currently playing for Real Madrid. He was born on July 16, 1989 in Wales. Gareth is also a player of Wales’s national team. He started his career in 2006, playing for Southampton. After just one year, in 2007, he moved to Tottenham Hotspur, for the fee of £7 million. Since 2009-2010 season, Gareth became important part of the team. His success and popularity started raising during 2010-2011 season of UEFA Champions League. In 2011 Bale was named PFA Players' Player of the Year. In 2013 he was named in the UEFA Team of the Year, PFA and FWA Young Player of the Year.

Since 2013, he is player of Real Madrid. According to the official Real Madrid’s statement, fee was £77 million. Some English press announced that the actual fee was £85.3 million. If that statement is true, it means, his transfer is more expensive than Cristian Ronaldo’s transfer (£80 million). Bale is one of the most credited players, for winning the UEFA Champions League and Copa del Rey in 2013.

Next year, in 2014, he helped Real Madrid win the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. The best characteristics of this player are his free-kicks and ball striking from huge distances. During his career, he is described as great player, with amazing speed and a great left foot!

He scored most goals while playing for the Tottenham, 42. While he was player of the Southampton he scored only 5 goals, but he was played just one year for that team! Currently he is responsible for scoring 25 goals for Real Madrid. Knowing Bale, we can say that this number will be seriously increased in the near future.
