Stephan Curry: ESPY Best Male Athlete 2015

Stephan Curry: ESPY Best Male Athlete 2015

This has been a tremendous year for the 27-year-old athlete.  He won the NBA finals with the Golden State Warriors and then on July 15th was chosen as ESPY’s Male Athlete of the Year. The truth is that the player has really earned his awards after an impressive season that includes an NBA championship, being named MVP, and now the ESPY award.

During his touching speech, he mentioned those who mostly matter to him: his family - his wife, their newborn Ryan and 3-year-old Riley. In his emotional speech, he said, “Oh man, I’m shaking. I want to thank first and foremost God for allowing me to be healthy to play the game that I love, my family for supporting me day in and day out, my wife who’s not here with us. We have 5-day-old daughter and she’s at home right now. I want to thank you for all you do for me. And my teammates, this is not possible without you and all the hard work we put in to it all year.”

The prize was presented to the player by Jake Gyllenhaal. What makes this award more impressive is the fact that Curry won over superstars, such as LeBron James, Aaron Rogers, and JJ Watt. This is definitively a high motivator for the young player who is committed to another amazing season.  We are sure there are many awards coming his way.
